Still in ХVIII сentury scientists proved that silver has antibacterial and antifungicide (antimycotic) properties even in minimal doses and prevents infection development. This natural antibiotic destroys about 656 kinds of microbes (including those eroding shoe leather), and does not evoke neither allergy nor accessory effects. The effectiveness of Salamander Shoe Deo deodorant with ions of silver was explored at Henkel bacteriological laboratory. The results of the analysis confirmed that new formulation of Salamander Shoe Deo with ions of silver is more effective in destroying bacteria than competitor’s product. It was also determined inhibiting (retarding) concentration of bacteria and fungi. The less the concentration lessening microbe growth, the more effective the formulation. The results of the research showed that while using the competitor’s product, bacteria growth starts to slow down at the concentration of 5 per cent, whereas new formulation of Shoe Deo with ions of silver slows down bacteria growth at the concentration of 1,25 per cent.
